As the training coordinator for Walgreens Distribution center in Windsor, Wisconsin, it fell to me to put together an exercise for upper management that leveled the playing field, promoted team spirit and developed trust. I consulted with Don Lawyer at Hawkwinds, and Don was able to tailor a ropes course training on his grounds at Hawkwind that met my needs exactly. The training day was cost effective, novel, and particularly well received by the participants, a generally skeptical lot. I have since worked with Don on other such creative trainings, one involving a canoe trip for supervisors on the Wisconsin River, and found as always imaginative, flexible and very able to translate my training desires into training realities.

The Hawkwind Adventure Challenge Course is by far our best team building event of the year. We have used this program for nearly 10 years, for students entering the new school year to establish and re-new relationships that set the tone for the entire year. Both staff and kids feel it is our most important event of the year in regards to team building and providing a positive model for group problem solving.
